Andy Soars Engineers Patternmaking

I started my career back in 1977 with my apprenticeship at a master pattern shop in Loughborough and studying the City & Guilds Patternmaking and Foundry course in Leicester at the Charles Keene College.

In 1988, having worked in several pattern shops gaining valuable experience, I set up on my own.

As you will see from my photographs, I have made a variety of pattern equipment; from hand made brick moulds to turbocharger inlet/outlet manifolds; stone crushing machinery to parts for the military.  I have worked from old broken castings to full design drawings; I have even made a pattern from sketches made on the back of the infamous cigarette packet, though the latter is not encouraged !

I have a healthy relationship with both ferrous and non ferrous foundries in my area and can supply castings if requested.

With a bit of luck, you're beginning to get the feel of me and my business.  The magic of it all is that there is no CAD, CAM or CNC to clutter the process.  My Patternmaking leans toward the traditional side - the only exception being the use of tooling resins.  The advantage of the above mentioned is that you, the customer, are not paying the costs I would have incurred investing in such technology!

So what you get is: -

Same day quotation where possible

Quality pattern equipment to your spec

Delivery on the date agreed during quotation

At a price you'll find hard to beat
