Zeta: The BlackBrook Zeta AFB (American Flat Bow or Longbow in US) has been around since 2004. In that time it's evolved quite a bit and has helped archers win at least 2 World Golds and 2 European Golds, and many Silvers and Bronzes. There's not a weekend without a BlackBrook Zeta somewhere in the world in the medals. Smooth drawing, no hand shock and amazingly quick. But what else would you expect from a Andy Soars hand made bow.
Sigma: Working with the top archers in Europe the BlackBrook Sigma AFB (American Flat Bow or Longbow in US)was born. The handle weight and geometery are completely different compared to the Zeta, with also a slight tweak to the limbs. Another world class hand made bow by Andy Soars, it's easy to set up and shoot and is very fast, but feels very different than the Zeta to shoot.
Fita Longbow: The BlackBrook Fita AFB (American Flat Bow or Longbow in US) is the Fita legal version of the Sigma and Zeta AFB's. The main differences are the arrow shelf is cut past centre which makes bow and arrow tuning much easier and the limbs have reflexed tips at brace height, this makes the limbs more efficient and extremely smooth to draw. Hunter: The BlackBrook Hunter Recurve is one of our classic designs that has been around for quite a while. It's simple to shoot, smooth to draw and fast. As with all classic designs, it's here to stay. The Hunter is a 60" one piece recurve with a compact handle, and is a favourite with NFAS HT archers.
Hawk: The BlackBrook Hawk was designed to have a long handle which is set forward for easy shooting and to have shorter limbs to keep the speed up. It works very well. It's a beautiful looking bow with lovely flowing lines and a large riser to show your elegant wood choices.
Nisus: The BlackBrook Nisus was developed after being asked several times if we make horse bows or if we have a shorter recurve? It was only a matter of time before we designed the ideal compromise between the two. The Nisus has a lovely cranked handle and modern day recurve limbs, and is both light in the hand and amazingly fast!
Carbon TDR: The BlackBrook Carbon TDR is a beautiful looking take down recurve with with traditional undertones. The carbon limbs substantially improves torsional stability, resulting in a more forgiving system. It's smooth to draw and shoot, and is very fast. The handle can accommodate a plunger button and an arrow rest, or you can simply shoot of the shelf.
Hybrid: The Hybrid is a mix of recurve riser and American Flat Bow limbs. It's aimed at the recurve archer who wants to shoot AFB without too much of a leap away from what they already are used to. The handle is set back to increase its performance and the arrow shelf can be cut past centre in requested. The Hybrid is beautifully simply and fun to shoot.
All BlackBrook Bows are designed to comply with FITA, IFAA, EFAA and NFAS rules at the time of construction.
